OVERFLOWING in 2026

Sermon Series

When God Fills You, It’s Never Just For You!

Have you ever felt like you’re running on empty, even when life looks “fine” on the outside?
Like you have responsibilities, deadlines, people counting on you… but your soul is still thirsty?
And if you’re honest, you’re not just asking God for a little help. You’re asking for a different kind of life.
What if 2026 isn’t about surviving with better habits, but overflowing with a better source?
What if your “enough” is actually God’s starting line?
What if the thing you’ve been praying for isn’t just provision, but purpose?

Big Idea: God wants to pour into you, so He can pour out through you.

Jesus didn’t just offer a nicer life. He offered a full life. And not a full calendar… a full spirit. John 10:10
Here’s the promise that’s been echoing in my heart for our church: Overflow isn’t simply about having more. It’s about God moving more through us.

Overflowing was a lifestyle Jesus prophesied about. John 7:37-39
Not a moment. Not a hype phrase.
A way of living.

Overflowing Is a Promise, Not a Personality

Some people think “overflow” is for the naturally positive. The loud worshipers. The ones with extra money. The ones with easy stories.

But Scripture paints a different picture.
Paul prays that love would “increase and overflow.” 1 Thessalonians 3:12
That hope would overflow “by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13

That means overflow isn’t a personality type. It’s a Spirit-filled life. And that matters because some of us are trying to produce overflow through willpower.
You can’t grind your way into rivers of living water.
You receive first. Then you release.

Kingdom Overflowing is the act of pouring out, often as a result of receiving abundance, pouring out, or drawing out. Ultimately, taking from what you have to give it away. It’s choosing not to contain it all, so your life becomes a kingdom story that produces many expressions of thanks to God.

From “Full” to “Flow”

Jesus says, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.” Then He connects belief with flow: “rivers of living water will flow from within them.” John 7:37-39
Don’t miss the order.

  1. Come.

  2. Drink.

  3. Believe.

  4. Flow.

We’re not trying to work up something spiritual.

We’re coming to Jesus to receive what only He can give.

God doesn’t fill you to store it. He fills you to send it.

And here’s what I love about the overflow life:

  • It’s not stingy.

  • It’s not fear-based.

  • It’s not “hold tight, resources are scarce.”

It’s faith that says, “God is my source, so I can live open-handed.”

Paul says God is able to bless you abundantly so you will “abound in every good work,” and be “generous on every occasion.” 2 Corinthians 9:8-11
That’s not just a giving verse. That’s a lifestyle verse.

Kingdom Stewardship: Time, Talent, Treasure

Our series theme is Kingdom Stewardship. That means we manage what God places in our hands with Kingdom purpose. Not just money, but also our:

  • Time.

  • Energy.

  • Words.

  • Skills.

  • Influence.

  • Attention.

Jesus said seek first the Kingdom. Matthew 6:33
Paul taught that generosity produces thanksgiving to God. 2 Corinthians 9:12-13

So here’s the shift:

Not “God, get things to me.” But “God, get things through me.”

That’s what overflow looks like in real life.

It looks like giving when it would be easier to hoard. Luke 6:38
It looks like honoring God first, not last. Proverbs 3:9-10
It looks like trusting God to supply needs, not panicking like you’re alone. Philippians 4:19

Overflow is what happens when stewardship meets surrender.

A quick Gen Z observation (Dreamer’s Church family, lean in)

  • Gen Z can spot “performative faith” a mile away, but they’re hungry for authentic presence.

  • They don’t just ask, “Is it true?” They ask, “Does it heal?”

  • A church that overflows in love, hope, and generosity doesn’t have to beg people to listen. It becomes undeniable.

The River That Starts in God’s House

One of the most beautiful pictures of overflow is the river in Ezekiel. Water starts at the temple, then gets deeper, then brings life everywhere it goes. Ezekiel 47:1-12
That’s not just imagery. That’s assignment. God wants His house to be overflowing so the city can be refreshed.

In other words, what God does in us on Sunday isn’t meant to end in the parking lot.
And if you’re thinking, “But I feel dry,” Scripture speaks to that too:
“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters.” Isaiah 55:1
God’s Word is like rain that waters the earth and accomplishes His purpose. Isaiah 55:10-11

Here’s what I’m believing: as Dreamer’s Church pursues Jesus in 2026, overflow won’t be a slogan. It will be the fruit.
